Jessielyn Castaneda:

Jessielyn Castaneda is one of the most experienced nannies we have ever had on our website.  She has been looking after children for families in Hong Kong since 1996 and knows exactly how to entertain kids of any age.

Most of Jessielyn's experience was working for Mrs. Chau Chi Wai from 1998 until 2006.  We called Mrs. Chau on May 17, 2008 to ask about Jessielyn's performance. Here are some excerpts from that conversation.

Quote 1:
"She is wonderful with babies. She looked after my two sons (one was a newborn when Jessielyn started) and took great care of them.  When they were older and she would take them to school she always held their hands so tightly when taking them to the bus.  She kept them safe."

Quote 2:
"Every day I would leave a list of chores to be completed and when I got home from work everything was always done.  She would also cook dinner. Fried rice, spaghetti, things like that."

Quote 3:
"She is honest.  I never locked up anything like money or jewelery.  I trusted her with the marketing (grocery) money and she would always return all the change. You can trust her."

We also called the family Jessielyn worked with between 1996-1998.  There was a language barrier but we did manage to find out they were happy with Jessielyn's performance.  Mr. Chan Chi Wai (the name is similar to the employer above but this is a different family) said Jessielyn was a good worker and was kind to their baby.  He also commented on her honesty.

Jessielyn likes going to church and reading books in her spare time.  She can follow any recipe and describes spare ribs with black beans and steamed fish as two of her specialties.  

On her application to Canada's Best Nannies Jessielyn wrote:

"I am a very hard-working person who is simple and cheerful.  I have twelve years of experience and I promise I will do my best to help you and your family."

Jessielyn is willing to work anywhere in Canada.  She likes animals and can help with any type of pet.
