Minda Plenos:   HIRED

Minda Plenos is one of the most highly recommended nannies we have ever represented. Her work history alone speaks for itself.

Minda has been employed by the same family in Hong Kong for the past five years.  When she started working as a nanny for Angel Wong the youngest of the three children was just two months old.  Minda was responsible for feeding, changing and bathing the baby.  She also looked after the two older children and took care of the housework and cooking.

The kids are now five, seven & nine and Angel says she is still amazed at how Minda manges to get everything done.

"She takes the girls to school, cooks for them, plays with them and still manages to keep everything spotless.  She is a good person and I trust her completely.  She is kind-hearted and hardworking.  My children think the world of her."

Angel says she doesn't want to lose Minda as her nanny but supports her decision to move to Canada.  She welcomes calls from Canadian families who are interested in hiring Minda.

Before moving to Hong Kong Minda worked in Manila as a secretary for fashion designer Nono Palmos for ten years.

We spoke with Nono on April 2, 2008 and asked him about Minda's performance.  He said he would hire her back in a second.

"She worked for me for over ten years and I can assure you she is an incredibly nice and honest lady.  Officially, she was my secretary but she did much more than that.  She often supervised the dress shop and helped me manage people.  She is great with people!  She would even help me clean up the place if the cleaning lady couldn't make it.  She is so very, very nice and always always willing to lend a hand."

Both Nono and Angel say they will give Minda a great reference to any Canadian family interested in hiring her.  We will provide those phone numbers upon request.

Minda is soft-spoken and describes herself as a woman of few words. "I am better at working than talking.  I like to get things done and prove myself in that way."  She enjoys spending time with children of all ages and is looking for a job with a family who wants a long-term nanny.  

Minda cooks Asian (Chinese and Filipino) food and can follow any recipe.   She is an excellent housekeeper and is willing to work anywhere in Canada.

On a personal note, we have gotten to know Minda well during the application process.  She has a gentle, warm & unobtrusive personality which would fit perfectly with most Canadian families.
