Basilisa Quiño:   AVAILABLE

Basilisa Quiño is a mature, responsible nanny who enjoys having fun with the children under her care.

Since April 30, 2008 Basilisa has been looking after a three year old girl in Hong Kong.  Her duties include getting the little girl ready for pre-school, preparing her breakfast and taking her to the bus stop.  While her charge is at school, Basilisa does all of the laundry, housework, grocery shopping and cooking for the rest of the family.  She also walks the family dog several times a day (she loves animals and is not allergic to any pets).

Before moving to Hong Kong, Basilisa spent three years with an employer in Taiwan.  Her duties included looking after an elderly woman and two small children.  We contacted Basilisa's employer - Ms. Chou Wang Chie Wen - on April 28, 2009 to ask about her performance.  Although there was a language barrier Ms. Chou spoke enough English to give Basilisa a glowing reference.

Quote:
"She was so good with my mother and with my two kids.  She is also a mother and that shows when she is with children.  She is very gentle and she likes to play with them.  She is honest and a good cook. She did very well with my family. She took good care of my mother."

Ms. Chou is willing to take calls from Canada from employers interested in hiring Basilisa.  Her first language is Mandarin.

Basilisa describes herself as being a little shy but says she knows how to mingle.  Her interests are music oriented and she loves watching concerts on television (Celine Dion is her idol) in her spare time.  She enjoys singing, playing the guitar, playing card games with children and telling stories and jokes.

She has first aid training and can swim in deep water.

Basilisa also enjoys cooking.  She can prepare Filipino, Chinese and some Western dishes and has no problem following a cookbook.  Some of the dishes she listed include steamed chicken or fish, fried rice and pasta.

She is available immediately and is willing to work anywhere in Canada.
